Floral and Pearl Nail Art Featuring Jord Wood Watches

Hey everyone! Today I have nail art and a beautiful watch to share with you! I was recently contacted by Dan of Jord Wood Watches and he wanted to me create some nail art to match one of their amazing wood watches for you guys! They sent me a Cora Series Women's Watch in Purple Heart & Pearl and it's absolutely stunning! I love it. 

Let's get into the nail art first, because I know that's what most of you are interested in.

For this design I created a really pretty floral print and then blinged out the rest of my nails with some rhinestones and pearls on top of a very subtle wood grain pattern, which is barely visible in photos, unfortuntely. I think the colors I chose for the floral print really compliment the Purple Heart wood of the watch.

The base of the floral print nails is a white polish and a pearl polish. The white is Wet n Wild French White Creme and the pearl is Sinful Colors Tokyo Pearl. I applied the pearl polish diagonally so it would create a unique texture underneath the flowers. Sometimes with pearl polishes the brush strokes can be distracting and a little unsightly if they are done vertically.

The flowers were hand painted with a small nail art brush. The pink I used is China Glaze Life Is Rosy. The orange is China Glaze If In Doubt, Surf It Out. And the leaves were done with a navy green called Westside Warrior by China Glaze.

The base color for the wood grain and bling nails is China Glaze Purr-fect Plum. I was really excited that I had a polish that matched so closely with the wood of my watch. To get the wood grain I mixed together some acrylic paint that was just barely darker than my base color and painted on random wavy lines. I applied the rhinestones and pearls using top coat and then applied more top coat on top to make sure they didn't fall off. The top coat I used was Rimmel London's Lasting Finish Pro.

I really love the way these nails turned out and I love how they look against the watch. I usually don't keep nail art designs on my nails very long, but I kept these on my nails until they were chipping and I had to take them off. It pained me to remove them, but at least I record and photograph them, right? They're not lost forever.

Now that I've talked about nail art... Let's talk about how gorgeous this watch is shall we? Jord is located in the United States, but ships worldwide. A few of my favorite features in this watch are the swarovski crystal hour markers. They sparkle, subtly in the sun and they are so pretty. I also love that you can see the gears from both the front and the back of the watch! The entire back of the watch face is see through. I should have caught a picture of it, but it totally jumped from my mind. Trust me, it's amazingly cool. Also, did I mention that they have multiple colors for this watch? They have a rose gold one and it's SO PRETTY!

Another great thing about Jord is that they will size your watch for you before they ship it to you so you can assure that it will fit perfectly on your wrist. They provide you with an easy to print ruler that you can wrap around your wrist to determine your size. Pretty cool! You can also measure your wrist with a string. Either way, it's a breeze to make sure your watch fits the first time you wear it.

My watch came on a pillow IN A WOOD BOX! A pillow you guys! In a fancy and reusable custom wood box. That's fancy! It might be silly to some, but it really makes a difference when you open a watch with an amazing presentation like this one.

I'm really happy with my Purple Heart & Pearl Cora Series watch! I love being able to share things like this with you guys alongside some nail art. It makes a fun and different kind of blog post that I really enjoy. I hope you all enjoy it too!

Sinful Colors Cinderella

Here we have a beautiful specimen. Sinful Colors Cinderella. Can I start off by explaining how excited I was when I found this?! Okay good, I'm glad you said yes.

 I almost had a heart attack! No joke, I actually made a gasping noise and snatched it off the shelf like it was a necessary item for a zombie appocalypse.

 Where I live, Sinful Colors nail polishes aren't available everywhere like other places. Target is basically the only place that had them. UNTIL NOW! My local Walmart is in the progress of being turned into a "Super Walmart" so they are getting more items in their beauty department. The weird thing is the nail polish is all spread out right now so nothing is together in the same place. So when I went to the nail polish section I wasn't expecting to find anything because my Walmart never ever gets new polish in... ever... Seriously. It's always the same and they never order good colors or the polishes are so old that they aren't even good quality anymore... So I bent down looking at the nail files and I saw this beauty sitting wayyyy in the back of everything. Someone was obviously hiding it for safe keeping. Muahaha! I found it! You snooze, you lose! I quickly grabbed it without hesitation and left.

Cinderella is a GORGEOUS light blue with pink and orange flecks. It's not glitter, it's not flakies, it's not just shimmer.. It's like glass flecks of color. It's freakin' awesome. Or should I say magical? Yes, magical sounds better considering it's called Cinderella and it makes me automatically think of Disney. That's basically one of the reasons why this polish was a must have for me.

In all of the pictures I have 3 coats of Cinderella without top coat. The formula is decent. It's not the best, but it's workable. It is pretty sheer. The consistency is a little odd. It's like it wants to be thick, but it can't so it's thin. It's like it has it's own mind and decides if it's going to cooperate with you or not. I highly recommend to layer this over a similar color blue in order to extend the life of this beauty. If not it'll be gone before you know it.

Here you can see what I mean about it not being a shimmer, glitter, or flakie. It's more of a glass fleck effect. It's seriously amazing. This is showing more of the pink color, but if you get it in the right light it does have an orange tinge to it at the same time.

If you find this. Get it. No doubt. Don't leave the store without it!

Greek Waves Nail Art

I asked my Facebook followers a few days ago what they wanted to see and one of the requests was Greek. The only thing I thought when I saw that request was what the heck am I supposed to do for that?! So I quickly googled greek patterns and I saw a pattern similar to this and I immediately loved it and knew that I wanted to do it in blue. The base color for these nails is actually two different colors. First I have one really thin coat of Wet n Wild I Need A Refresh-Mint and then I have two coats of Sinful Colors Cinderella. I have yet to actually take swatch pictures of Cinderella, but I really really need to because it is seriously a gorgeous polish.

Like usual, I used acrylic paint for the pattern and a really small paint brush and a dotting tool for the dots. I really like the way these turned out! I love the two different colors of blue and Cinderella gives it a hint of pink and orange shimmer.

Batman Nail Art

Okay... I can't even describe to all of you how much I loved these nails and I can't believe I even took them off. I think I almost cried. Seriously, I'm not joking. This was a request from a viewer and I was so excited when this idea popped into my head. It came out way better than what I thought it was going to. The splatter was done with a straw with the tip dipped into nail polish. It's probably the coolest method for splattering nails ever.

For the black I used Sinful Colors Black on Black to start off with on all my nails. It's an amazing one coat black and it dries so quickly for me. I absolutely love it and I'm starting to run out and I need to get another bottle ASAP! For the yellow splatter and the logo I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow. The straw that I used for the splatter was just a regular drinking straw that you can get in huge packs and they have the bendable top. Well, I cut the bendable top off so I just had a straight straw because it works way better that way.

I seriously just can't get over how awesome I think these are. This is definitely one of my favorite designs that I have done so far.

Glitter Gradient Nails

Do these look familiar to you? I hope they do! I've done these nails before! The reason behind posting them again is because I made at tutorial for them! You can read the original post about these nails here! I highly recommend it because it says what polishes I used and various other things. It's easier for me for you to just click that link, because then I don't have to rewrite everything.

Leopard Print Triangle Nail Art

If you follow along with me on facebook or tumblr, you may have noticed that I've done these nails before. Yes, I did these awhile ago, but that was before I started doing tutorials on YouTube, and one of my facebook followers wanted me to make a tutorial for these and I thought "Sure! Why not? It's easier than what it looks."


For the light gold I used Pure Ice Jaguar. The darker gold/bronze in the leopard print is China Glaze In Awe of Amber. The shimmery black is Sinful Colors Secret Admirer. Then as always, I used black acrylic paint to outline the  triangle and finish off the leopard print.


To get the triangle shape I used tape and cut a triangle out of it and then put it on the tip of my nail. Then I proceeded to paint the black over the exposed part of my nail, and then peeled off the tape to reveal the golden triangle.


These are pretty fierce!

Sinful Colors Hottie Over Black

I usually don't put the super close up picture first, but holy cow! I just couldn't resist! Look at all that gorgeousness on one nail. I don't know what made me want to layer Hottie over black... but I'm glad I thought of it!

 I don't have a swatch of Hottie on it's own but its a really pretty jelly blue polish with glitter and it's amazing. It seriously applies so smoothly and you don't have to worry about moving the glitter around. It stays EXACTLY where it's put. The even better news, this is only one coat of it over SC Black on Black! Can you believe it? All that glitter stayed there from one swipe of the brush!

 Just a friendly reminder, pick up your jaw and wipe the drool off of your keyboards. I was right wasn't I? You were drooling? No? Okay... Well at least pick up your jaw from the desk!

Sinful Colors Courtney Orange

Here's Sinful Colors Courtney Orange. A gorgeous shimmery medium orange. 

The shimmer in this polish almost shines yellow, as you can see in the close up photo below. It's like it wants to shine yellow, but then remembers it's orange.

 The formula is very good! I had absolutely no complaints. There's 2 coats in all of the pictures and it's pretty opaque. If your nails are longer than mine, and the white tips are showing, you may need 3 coats. Other than that, this ones a beauty.

Sinful Colors Innocent

 This is Sinful Colors Innocent. A super pretty cream light green. It's a perfect green for summer. 

The formula for this polish is a little thick, which makes it a little hard to apply. I had to keep fixing the brush strokes after each coat. With that said, it is pretty opaque though. I have 2 coats on in the pictures. It also seems to "erase itself" sometimes too. Even though it has some cons... I still think this color is so pretty!

Sinful Colors Love Nails

Ahh, yes. Sinful Colors Love Nails. I love my nails with this color. It's mesmerizing when it's in the sun. It's so shimmery and sparkly. It's the perfect aqua blue for summer!

The formula for this polish is pretty good! It's a little sheer, but you can still get away with only 2 coats. If it's too sheer at 2 coats for you then go ahead and add a 3rd coat. Either way it'll still be beautiful. It applies very smooth, but sometimes the brush strokes are noticeable because of the type of shimmer it is. So be sure to paint your nails straight up and down.

Sinful Colors Unicorn

Here is Sinful Colors Unicorn. A pretty cream pale yellow. This color is perfect for spring and summer. 

 The formula for this polish is definitely not perfect... It is extremely streaky. I only have 2 coats on in the pictures and it is still a little streaky. A lot of pastel and pale colors seem to be streaky for me though, so I wasn't too disappointed. Other than the streaks, it applied pretty well.

Sinful Colors Let's Meet

Here is Sinful Colors Let's Meet! This color brightens my day. :) It's like having sunshine on my nails whenever I wear this. It's a beautiful bright shimmery yellow!

 The formula is very sheer and pretty thin. This is 3 coats and I could have used 4 because I could still see the white tips of my nails. It has a really smooth application though, which is a plus considering you have to apply a ton of coats to get it opaque.

Sinful Colors Mint Apple

Mint Apple? What an awkward name... Never in my life have I heard of a mint apple. This color should be named Mint Sorbet... or something like that. I don't think this is an apple color. Anyway...This is Sinful Colors Mint Apple and its a really pretty mint color. It has a hint of silver shimmer which makes it look outstanding!

 The formula for this polish is pretty decent. Not the best I've seen from Sinful Colors, but I can't complain. It applied pretty smooth and is opaque enough to only use 2 coats. I just can't get over how beautiful the micro fine silver glitter makes it look.

Sinful Colors Cloud 9

Look at this beauty! This is Cloud 9 by Sinful Colors. It is the most perfect light shimmery orange nail polish. It has a slight yellow shimmer, but it looks amazing. 


The formula for this polish is pretty sheer and thin. I have 3 coats on in this picture and I think I could have used 4. Even though it's thin, I don't mind because look how beautiful it is! It applies very nicely. I didn't have any problems with it.

Words Of Love

How cute are these? I feel like these would be fantastic for Valentine's Day. However, I think they are adorable and can be on your nails any day of the year. They're super easy to recreate too!

 For these nails I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as the base. On top of a regular base coat, of course. I use Beauty Secrets. For the words I used red and black acrylic paint and a super small paint brush that I cut myself. After that I applied top coat (Out The Door) because top coat is essential for long lasting nails! And because I used acrylic paint. Simple as that! Just fill up your nails with a bunch of love and you'll have nails that everyone else will love.

Sinful Colors Savage

Sinful Colors Savage is an awesome blue matte polish. I honestly didn't expect it to be matte the first time I used it. It's a beautiful medium blue. Not too light and not too dark.

 The formula for this polish is AMAZING considering it's a matte finish. Usually I have a problem with matte finishes because the polish always seems to start drying before I get my whole nail covered. This applied flawlessly! Of course, it may be a little finicky if it takes you longer to paint your nails. If you're decently fast at applying polish you'll be fine. It's so fun to sit and watch matte polish dry on your nails. It's like magic!
