Chevrons and Studs Nail Art

Hello there everyone! I'm back with some nail art finally! I feel like the only thing I do anymore is reviews. *sigh* I'm having a hard time trying to balance the nail art and reviews and tutorials. I need to figure out a better schedule.

I started following Deb Shops on Facebook recently and they shared a really cute outfit the other day and I immediately thought it would make a cute nail art design, so here it is!

The white polish that I used underneath the black chevrons is China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around. I have been loving this shimmery white over the stark white lately. It just feels more "spring time-y". The pink is China Glaze Dance Baby and it's a cream. A gorgeous, amazing, awesome pink. I love it.

I hand painted the black chevrons onto my nails using black acrylic paint and a very small detailing nail art brush. I will be reviewing that brush set soon, but I'm making sure I put them to good use before I give an opinion on them!

On the pink nails I kept it really simple and used two round, silver studs. I reviewed these previously and you can read that review HERE. They are from bornprettystore.com. They are being held on with top coat. The top coat I used to hold them on and to finish off the design is Out The Door.

I did a quick and simple tutorial for these nails. If you are interested in doing these nails, but you don't know where to start you can find that video tutorial below!

  2. I just saw your post on facebook about cutepolish, and I don't want any Facebook controversy and I really just want to say something to you and not get any other comments about it, so I am commenting on here. Hopefully you will see it. I am on your side. First of all, I googled "polka dot stripes nails" and only found your design and other people's recreations of your design, not their own. So cutepolish probably did recreate your design. Which is really stupid because you already have made a tutorial for it. I also have my own experience similar to yours. I entered a disney nail contest with this design http://s1269.photobucket.com/user/ck797/media/IMG_0074.jpg.html?sort=3&o=33 thinking I was the only one do have thought of it, but about a month later I saw that Starfish on the Beach (GREAT blog, btw) had done a very similar design (much better) way before I did mine. I was fine with it because she obviously did not get the design from me. A while back, I saw that disneys Facebook page shared this video http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=xiqdiQJTLW4&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DxiqdiQJTLW4 which cutepolish had done a tutorial for a design "she came up with". Now, I am not saying she took this design from me, because my nails are not really popular anywhere on the Internet, but with my nails and Starfish on the Beach's nails out there, she probably saw them somewhere. This really angered me because she did this for disney! And claimed it as her own design, much like it looks like she did to yours. So, I guess two people coming up with a similar design is not uncommon, like I did without seeing starfish on the Beach's design, but a third person....hmmmm..... And after cutepolish 'stole' the beauty and the beast design from 'someone', it really does not surprise me that she would steal one of yours. I never watch her videos because of what I believe she did, and this newest video makes me even more angry. I love your designs, by the way. You have a great blog. :)
