Phoenix by Nail Polish Couture

Hello polish lovers! I have a color changing polish for you today from an awesome indie brand! This is Phoenix by Nail Polish Couture. It changes from red to yellow depending on how warm or cool it is. Since everyone's body temperature is different, this polish will be unique on every person. All photos are 3 coats of Phoenix with one coat of Out The Door top coat.

When Phoenix is cool it is a gorgeous bright red! This is the brightest I could get it by plunging my nails into freezing cold water.

When you change the temperature and make Phoenix warm it turns yellow. As you can see by the photo below, it is a jelly. When it turns yellow there will be visible nail line.

If you don't like this, you can solve the problem by layering this polish over a white base. This will give the polish more of a solid look instead of a jelly look. The color will also be more vibrant.

Like I said previously, this polish will always be unique. As you can see in the photos below, if one part of your hand is warmer than the other, some areas will red, others will be an orange color, and some will be yellow.

It was very difficult to photograph these nails because sometimes the color would change so quickly! I was also taking photos above my sink because I used water to change the color, so my lighting was terrible, but I think I managed to capture some really cool shots!

There were many times where it looked like there was a gradient on my nails just because the tips of my nails were cooler than my nail beds.

The formula was a little thick, but it didn't make it difficult to apply at all. It still applied very smooth. It is a little sheer with the first coat, but it can easily be built up. It dried very quickly! It only took about 5 minutes for my first coat to dry completely. It dries a little dull, so you will need a top coat if you want maximum shine. Top coat will not affect the color change.
