Hey everyone! It's pretty late, but I figured I'd get this blog post up since the matching tutorial was just uploaded to YouTube this evening. I wanted to do something simple on my nails for fall and I wanted some glitter. So, this is what happened. I'm pretty satisfied with it. It's kind of like a super simple, minimalistic Aztec style. I think this would look awesome with any color combination really. I also have some other ideas for this... but I'll keep them a secret until I actually do them. Muahaha. The suspense!
The base polish is China Glaze I Herd That. It's a perfect glitter for fall. TONS of sparkle with only two coats. Yes, full coverage in two coats. You read that correctly. It's amazing. The accent color that I used for the steps is China Glaze Kalahari Kiss. A lot of people hate this color, but I love it. I think it's the perfect yellowish polish for fall. It may not be the prettiest on it's own, but paired with other fall colors, it's perfect. I used some striping tape to section off the yellow part. You can easily use scotch tape as well. It would actually be easier in this case. I outlined it with a small nail art brush and some black acrylic paint to make it stand out a little more. For top coat I used Out The Door.

love this design!
ReplyDeleteIt's simple and so chic! I really like how it's vaguely tribal, but very subtle.
